www.thug.com is the second studio album by rapper Trick Daddy, who previously released his debut album known at the time under the name as Trick Daddy Dollars coming on the heels of Based on a True Story. It was released on September 22, 1998 by Warlock Records and Slip-n-Slide Records. The album managed to peak at number thirty on the Billboard 200, the fifth highest peak of any Trick Daddy album. Project: Funk Da World is the debut studio album by rapper Craig Mack, released September 20, 1994. The album was the second release on Bad Boy Records, following The Notorious B.I.G.’s classic Ready to Die by one week. Propelled by the success of the Platinum-selling smash hit single “Flava In Ya Ear”, the album reached Gold sales status on February 22, 1995. “Flava In Ya Ear” also featured a successful remix (not included on the album), featuring guest verses from The Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes, Rampage and LL Cool J. The album’s second single, “Get Down”, was the rapper’s second Top 40 hit in 1994 and achieved Gold sales status in April 1995.

Douglas E. Davis was born September 17, 1966, he is better known by the stage name Doug E. Fresh. Doug is a Barbadian born rapper, record producer and beat boxer, also known as the Human Beat Box. The pioneer of 20th-century American beatboxing, Fresh is able to accurately imitate drum machines and various special effects using only his mouth, lips, gums, throat, tongue and a microphone.
“Rapper’s Delight” is a song recorded in 1979 by hip hop trio The Sugarhill Gang. While it was not the first single to feature rapping, it is generally considered to be the song that first popularized hip hop in the United States and around the world. The song is ranked #251 on the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and #2 on both About.com’s and VH1’s 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs. It is also included in NPR’s list of the 100 most important American musical works of the 20th century. The song was also named as the Greatest Really Long Rock Song of all time by Digital Dream Door. It was preserved into the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress in 2011, calling it “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” The song was recorded in a single take.

Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones was born September 14, 1973, better known as Nas. He is a rapper, songwriter, record producer and actor. Nas has released eight consecutive platinum and multi-platinum albums and sold over 25 million records worldwide since 1994. He is also an entrepreneur through his own record label, he serves as associate publisher of Mass Appeal magazine and is the owner of a Fila sneaker store. He is currently signed to Mass Appeal Records. His musical career began in 1991 when he was featured on Main Source’s track “Live at the Barbeque”. His debut album Illmatic, released in 1994, received universal acclaim from both critics and the hip hop community; it is frequently ranked as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. He did Illmatic ’s “N.Y. State of Mind” in one take. Nas’ follow-up album, It Was Written, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, stayed on top for four consecutive weeks, went Platinum twice in only two months and made Nas internationally known. Nas signed to Def Jam. In 2010, he released a collaboration album with reggae artist Damian Marley, donating all royalties to charities active in Africa. His eleventh studio album, Life Is Good, was released in 2012, and was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. Nas is often named as one of the greatest hip hop artists. Trill is the debut studio album by hip hop recording artist and a UGK’ member Bun B. It was release on September 13, 2005, by Rap-a-Lot Records, Asylum Records and Atlantic Records. The album debuted at number 6 on the Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 118,000 copies in the United States. Trill was supported by four singles, including “Draped Up” featuring Lil’ Keke, a remix to “Draped Up”, which features guest appearances from the H-Town’s all-stars, “Git It” featuring Ying Yang Twins and “Get Throwed” featuring Pimp C, Young Jeezy, Z-Ro and Jay-Z.
You Nasty is the ninth studio album by rapper Too Short. The album was released on September 12, 2000, by Jive Records and featured production from Ant Banks, Erick Sermon and Jazze Pha. You Nasty proved to be a success, peaking at #12 on the Billboard 200 and #4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, as well as producing 2 charting singles, “2 Bitches” and “You Nasty”, which peaked at #2 and #6 on the Hot Rap Singles respectively.
Can I Burn? is the fourth album released by the rapper Fiend. It was released on September 11, 2000 by Fiend’s own label, Fiend Entertainment and featured production from Fiend and David Banner. After two successful albums for No Limit Records, Can I Burn? was his first independent release since 1995.
