The biggest country music festival & chili competition in South Florida was a huge success. The best of the best in country music brought together in one weekend to give the entire family a memorable experience. Country music has the greatest fans we go from strangers to friends in one weekend. The countdown begins until next year!
Miami once again had some of the greatest DJ’s from around the world convene on the sands of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. Brought to us by Innervisions & Life and Death, Rakastella continues to be one of the best festivities during Art Basel every year. You just can’t go wrong with a party on the beach! Whether it was the stunning view of the sunset and sunrise from the shore or never leaving the dance floor, it felt like magic. The best music always makes you feel a type of way and Rakastella’s stacked lineup never missed a beat. Everyone and everything is interconnected in this universe. Eventually, all things merge into one. Innervisions & Life and Death = LOVE! Enjoy our photo recap below.
The 4th annual Riptide Music Festival Powered by Ford, returned to Fort Lauderdale this past weekend and offered quality music performances, interactive art installations, workshops and fashion showcases. Happy faces, big smiles and warm days graced the grounds of Fort Lauderdale Beach. Quite an impressive job by all involved. For those that missed out on the experience check out some highlights below. We are already starting to count down the days until Riptide 2020.
Back at it again, our 2nd year up at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park for Hulaween was one funky time! This years theme, “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, really brought out some 90’s nostalgia. There was an abundance of reasons it was a Happy Hula. From the amazing costumes and energy brought by the festival goers, the musicians and performers, to the surreal experience at Spirit Lake. Thursday really set the tone as Tycho peacefully welcomed us and many others at The Amphitheater stage. With a quick shift in music, we caught a segment of Umphrey’s McGee spectacular set at The Patch stage. We really revved things up, making our way to Spirit Lake for back to back high powered sets by Justin Jay, Whipped Cream, Peekaboo and Snails. Friday the Meadow started to fill in as Motet kicked off the main stage, followed by Lettuce. The sun was setting, but everyone could still feel the heat rising off Tom Morello guitar. During the dark of night, Clozee crash landed from outer space to bring us all together for the love of music. She completely outdid herself, taking us through a musical journey like none other. The night was still young as people made there way to Bassnectar. He crushed it as expected. With all the talk of Marc Rebillet, we made it a point to catch at least a few moments of the unique one man band. For many Friday night turned into Saturday morning. With so much fun already had this was still just the beginning. Saturday was full of String Cheese sets, our favorite CharlesTheFirst, Maribou State, Mija, Thundercat, Flying Lotus and Anderson .Paak alongside The Free Nationals who came out in full KISS attire. The list speaks for itself, but needless to say it was epic! Sunday came faster than expected, but the vibes were still high and the beats were flowing. We pretty much camped at The Amphitheater all Sunday with sets from Walker & Royce, Whethan, and Tchami. The only time we wandered off was to catch Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and Philadelphia super group Star Kitchen. Beyond the music Hulaween provided a variety of merchants, food venders and the Oasis which had a lineup of workshops. You can tell there was a certain camaraderie amongst everyone at Spirit Lake Sunday night, as the festival was ending and we were all enjoying our final moments before returning to our respective realities. Enjoy the photo recap below. We can’t wait for next year!
The Void was hands down the reunion we all didn’t know we needed. What a beautiful night, truly a playground for the vibrant and the unique. Taking place at the Moore Building in the Design District of Miami, Florida it was the perfect place to hold such a special event. All 4 floors curated with some of the best artists in South Florida alongside performances by MoMo and Twelve’Len with DJ PeeWee, Paper Water, DJ Louie and more on the 1’s and 2’s. We are definitely looking forward to the next installment! Enjoy the recap shot by Kathy Rosario.
FIU Homecoming was one for the books. The stage was on fire with performances by Flipp Dinero, Waka Flocka, Sheck Wes and Lil Yatchy. The crowd had high energy as they screamed back every lyric the entire night. Get a glimpse of the madness with photos by Kathy Rosario.
Tyler, the Creator has taken on a new persona along with the release of his fourth studio album, IGOR. His performance gave fans a blast from the past with the silky backdrop, spotlight and iconic blonde wig. The crowd was definitely rowdy, but that’s nothing new as we Tyler fans are known for starting mosh pits. If you missed this performance there’s a few shows left this year as we recommend you attend. Take a look at the Miami stop with photos by Chris Allmeid.
Wale really knows how to put ona great show and attendees at Revolution Live got what they went for at the “Everything is Fine Tour” in Ft. Lauderdale. The energy was especially high as Deante Hitchcock, ADE and Young opened the show, followed by an amazing performance from Wale. Two thumbs up on this one.
Bloodline Marketing and Damaged Goods presented Da Baby at the Watson Center in Miami. The show was opened by Yukon, EDI and Heavy Game. Lil Durk, NLE Choppa brought in the heat for high energy performances. If you missed it, we’re here to fill you in with some photos below.
Evolved, now in its 11th year was NYC’s longest running and largest electronic music festival, Electric Zoo. It took place Labor Day Weekend at Randall’s Island Park. The energy came in strong with acts by Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Alison Wonderland, Armin Van Buuren, Diplo, DJ Diesel, Borgore, Dog Blood, Eric Prydz, Kaskade, ZEDD and many more. There may not be any live animals, but this is our kind of zoo! View gallery below.
Canadian hip-hop artist NAV held it down at the Fillmore Miami Beach alongside fellow Ontario rapper, Killy. I loved watching the fans chant along with his every word. We look forward to the next time NAV is in the 3-0-5!
It has been an amazing adventure for us at LIB. We have had the pleasure to participate for the second year in a row and it just gets better and better. It has truly grown not just as a festival but as a community in which we now consider family. It’s a life changing festival for many of the attendees at this wonderland located at Buena Vista Lake, California. We consider this a gathering of multi-dimensional expression from some extraordinary artists. LIB stays true to its essence of being a magical home away from home. As festival goers meandered around this new landscape they encountered music in every junction, art and interactive installations. There were endless opportunities for relaxation, education, exercise and healing if your body was calling for it. We were eager to participate in the conversations and ceremonies going on at the Beacon stage and the surrounding Compass area. Our personal favorite was mycologist, Paul Stamets who we got to experience twice, the second time to a full house at the Beacon stage. Credit to the Do Lab for their ability to balance a star-studded musical lineup, while also spreading the light of scientists, spiritual teachers, indigenous leaders and more. By Sunday night it was hard not to feel like you were in a fairy tale you never wanted to end. As expected, we left Lighting in a Bottle feeling inspired and with a belief that our dreams are within our grasp. What a beautiful reminder that we can be the change we want to see in the world.
The fastest growing jazz and R&B festival in the U.S.” did it again! The 14th Annual Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival ushered in the 2019 festival season with yet another “top notch” lineup. The highly anticipated festival event immersed fans in the best of R&B, soul, jazz, hip-hop, and funk genres. Hosted by nationally syndicated radio personality, Rickey Smiley, JITG celebrated the biggest backyard party and worldwide reunion with thousands of attendees at the world-class Hard Rock Stadium.
Reggae Rise Up had us all escaping to the islands without ever leaving the city. The sound of steel drums, the smell of great food and the infectious energy of the artists had everyone feeling good. Reggae Rise Up offered a great lineup, we were sent off with one of the best reggae experiences of 2019. Until next year.
