Christopher Lee Rios better known as Big Pun was a rapper and actor, the first Latino rapper to attain Platinum sales status as a solo act. Big Pun emerged from the underground hip hop scene in The Bronx, New York. Pun’s lyrics are notable for technical efficiency, having minimal pauses to take a breath, heavy use of alliteration as well as internal and multi-syllabic rhyming schemes. Weighing almost 700 pounds Puns unhealthy lifestyle caught up with him as he suffered a fatal heart attack and respiratory failure. He died On February 7, 2000. R.I.P. Big Pun.

He is one half of the New York hip hop duo Cannibal Ox, which consists of him and fellow rapper Vordul Mega. He is also a member of the rap group Atoms Family. He was born in Mount Vernon, New York, then lived in Jamaica, Queens before moving to Harlem and becoming acquainted with the underground rap scene, performing in many clubs while still a teenager. He was once a part of the underground hip hop group The Weathermen.

The song “One-Nine-Nine-Nine” features an introduction by Talib Kweli, guest rapping by Sadat X and production by Hi-Tek. A music video was released for it, which also featured briefs cameos from Jeru The Damaja and Harold Hunter. Additionally, Rawkus Records featured it in their Best of Decade I: 1995-2005 compilation. Common’s vocals on the song were sampled in “Mic Like a Memory” by Cunninlynguists.
Antwan André Patton born February 1, 1975, better known by his stage name Big Boi, is a rapper, songwriter, record producer and actor, best known for being a member of American hip hop duo OutKast alongside André 3000. His work in the duo has produced six studio albums. Big Boi’s solo debut Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty was released in July 2010 to respectable sales and critical acclaim.
The music video made it’s U.S. television debut on Solid Gold on January 31, 1981 and not only became the first rap video ever broadcast on MTV, but was part of its first 90-video rotation.Set in the East Village section of Manhattan, the “Man from Mars” or “voodoo god” (dancer William Barnes in the white suit and top hat) is the introductory and central figure. Barnes also choreographed the piece. Much of the video is a one-take scene of Debbie Harry dancing down the street, passing by graffiti artists, Uncle Sam, an American Indian, child ballet dancer and a goat. Fab Five Freddy and graffiti artists Lee Quinones and Jean-Michel Basquiat make cameo appearances. Basquiat was hired when Grandmaster Flash did not show for the filming. The UK 7″ version of the song is used in the video.

Camp Lo is a duo consisting of Geechi Suede (Saladine Wallace) and Sonny Chiba (Salahadeen Wilds).The album peaked at number 27 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned the hit single, “Luchini AKA This Is It”.
